Job Description

Amazon internships across all seasons are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work in office, Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day. Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. This application is primarily for roles in Herndon, VA with a start date preference in the Fall (Starts in August/September 2026). You will be able to provide your preference of location and start date during the application process but, we cannot guarantee that we can meet your selection based on several factors including but not limited to the availability and business needs of this role. Finalization on the location and start dates available will be provided to you at the time of job offer. TPM interns apply project management best practices to make the team you work with more efficient. You will be responsible for driving projects from initiation through delivery, collaborating with many different teams to complete a whole product. As a TPM intern, you know how to apply technology to solve problem and take the time to fully learn the products and systems involved with your projects.

  • Identify predictors and causes of business related problems and implement novel approaches related to forecasting and prediction
  • Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations
  • Build relationships, identify stakeholders, and influence other teams across organizations and external teams
  • Define analytical approaches to uncover new insights and formulate recommendations that improve processes
  • Influence technology at the component level
  • Interface with engineering disciplines to deliver project requirements

Requirements

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12 week internship maximum
  • Are enrolled in a academic program that is physically located in the United States
  • Experience previously in program or project management
  • Bachelor's degree or above in a technical or engineering related field, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
  • Currently working towards a Bachelor’s, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with an expected conferral date October 2026 – December 2029.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of project management tools and software
  • Knowledge of industry technologies in program or product domain (e.g., hardware, network, software, systems) and how to apply those technologies to solve problems
  • Knowledge of collecting data from log files, data stores, SQL, and APIs
  • Experience transforming raw thoughts into clear technical documentation and/or direction.
  • Able to dive deeply into technical details (e.g., key dependencies, design choices, operability, etc.) and drive constructive discussions with engineers.
  • Strong technical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Problem-solving mind-set, proactive issue resolution skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Understands a broad range of techniques for conducting technical analysis and know when to use them.
