Meta Reality Labs (RL) is building products that make it easier for people to connect with others. Mixed Reality (MR) is a team of world-class experts developing and shipping hardware to move our industry-leading mixed reality systems forward. As a Color, Materials, and Finish (CMF) Technical Program Manager within MR Product Engineering, you will drive the end-to-end CMF development and delivery across multidisciplinary programs throughout the product development lifecycle.You will establish requirements with internal and external customers, manage program schedules, identify risks, mitigation plans, and clearly communicate them to program stakeholders. We look for technical program managers who have a technical foundation, are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Partner with the Industrial Design, Color Material Finish, Product Design Engineering teams to enable the definition and execution of next generation hardware products, New Technology Introductions and Special Edition products
  • Advocate for the Industrial Design (ID), Color Material and Finish (CMF) vision by partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the ID CMF point of view is authentically represented and meaningfully integrated into the product development process
  • Coordinate and drive Industrial design deliverables including specifications, DOE and validation plans across multiple concurrent projects
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Industrial Design, CMF, SME’s, System PD, Reliability, Operations) and other cross-functional teams to develop best practices and technology development processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage delivery of ID CMF Configurations for development builds and drive qualification to meet mass production timelines
  • Create development, delivery, and qualification schedules based on program requirements, technical challenges, lead-times and business needs
  • Manage program structure to optimize clarity and efficiency for program teams, leadership, and external customers
  • Communicate program statuses, identifying potential setbacks, including vendor tooling schedules and CMF design sprints
  • Manage communication within and between internal cross functional
  • Ensure program documents are complete, current, and available for staff and leadership review
  • Contribute to resource planning to ensure program success
  • Up to 20% travel internationally

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years experience working as a technology development program manager or engineering or design leadership role in consumer electronics
  • Experience in ODM, JDM, and CM vendor engagement models
  • Knowledge of phase gate approach to technology development programs
  • Experience with mechanical system development, design for manufacturing, tooling, validation and characterization processes
  • Adept at communicating, planning, with high level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of program top issue tracking
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and programs
  • Maintains composure in times of ambiguity and direction changes

Nice to have:

  • 10+ years of experience working in a mechanical engineering or industrial design field
  • Experience in 1P and/or 2P product development, defining requirements and program constraints, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders
