The Product Owner – Fabrication Platform is responsible for shaping and driving the evolution of our scalable fabrication digital platform. This role combines Product Ownership, Product Specialist expertise, and strong Business Analysis capabilities to bridge engineering, operations, and digital systems. This is not a feature factory role. It requires deep ERP literacy, domain understanding, and platform-first thinking to ensure that what we build is scalable, reusable, and aligned with long-term architectural integrity. The Product Owner owns the product vision, backlog prioritization, and functional integrity of the fabrication platform. They ensure that local plant needs are translated into configurable platform capabilities — not one-off customizations that compromise scalability. Working closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Operations, IT, and Business stakeholders, the Product Owner translates operational fabrication realities into clear functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. The role demands strong cross-functional communication and the ability to align diverse interests around shared platform goals and trade-offs.
Job Responsibility:
Own and communicate the product vision for the fabrication platform with a platform-first mindset
Define and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned with scalability and long-term maintainability
Clearly distinguish between generic platform capabilities and plant-specific logic
Drive configurability over customization
Make principled prioritization decisions, including saying no to local optimizations that undermine platform integrity
Ensure strong alignment between ERP core modules (planning, production, inventory, costing) and fabrication workflows
Assess cross-module impacts of product changes across ERP and operational systems
Translate fabrication processes into scalable digital workflows
Partner with ERP, engineering, and operations teams to design integrated, coherent solutions
Gather, structure, and challenge business requirements from multiple plants and stakeholders
Break down epics into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Identify dependencies, risks, and integration implications early
Ensure traceability from business needs to implemented functionality
Support validation, UAT, and functional testing to ensure business alignment
Act as a trusted bridge between shop-floor teams, engineering, IT, and leadership
Facilitate alignment workshops and discovery sessions
Translate business language into technical requirements and vice versa
Communicate trade-offs clearly and build consensus around platform decisions
Collaborate closely with development teams and Scrum Masters within Agile frameworks
Participate actively in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Monitor delivery milestones and ensure functional quality
Contribute to product documentation, training materials, and internal enablement
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Specialist, Consultant / Business Analyst in ERP-driven or manufacturing environments
Proven experience working with ERP systems and understanding cross-module dependencies (planning, production, inventory, costing)
Hands-on experience translating operational workflows into digital system requirements
Demonstrated experience managing product backlogs and working within Agile teams
Experience balancing global platform needs with local operational realities
Strong track record of delivering scalable solutions rather than one-off customizations
Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial production environments
Exposure to digital transformation initiatives within operations or supply chain
Experience integrating ERP systems with operational or engineering systems
Experience working in multi-site or international operational environments
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Strong ERP functional knowledge (manufacturing or fabrication modules preferred)
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience operating as a Product Owner in Agile teams
Strong analytical and structured thinking skills
Ability to assess system impacts across interconnected platforms
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional, international environment
