Job Responsibility:

  • Own and develop the competitive intelligence function, proactively identifying and analyzing market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities
  • Drive competitive intelligence enablement, training sales teams to effectively position VAST’s unique value against competitor offerings
  • Analyze technical product capabilities of competitors and clearly articulate differentiated, customer-centric benefits of VAST Data solutions
  • Act as the internal expert on competitive systems architecture, including file, object storage, block storage, and emerging AI-driven storage solutions
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to shape competitive product messaging strategies
  • Develop targeted competitive battlecards, positioning documents, and sales playbooks to equip the sales teams with actionable insights
  • Lead competitive-focused training sessions, webinars, and workshops to clearly communicate VAST’s competitive advantage
  • Support sales teams with targeted competitive responses for RFPs and customer engagements
  • Craft compelling content including competitive briefs, whitepapers, case studies, blogs, and FAQs that highlight competitive differentiation
  • Collaborate with demand generation and digital marketing teams to incorporate competitive messaging into impactful campaigns
  • Represent VAST Data as a competitive expert at industry panels, conferences, and events

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, or solutions marketing within IT infrastructure, data storage, or enterprise software
  • Proven track record in competitive analysis, messaging, and positioning within technical markets
  • Deep understanding of storage architectures (block, file, object), AI-driven architectures, and emerging market trends
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills with the ability to clearly translate complex technical data into actionable competitive insights
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience managing cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to travel for industry events, competitive research, customer engagements, and team activities

Nice to have:

  • Experience with compliance frameworks and industry standards (GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Background working in early-stage startups or rapidly growing tech companies
