As a Technical Product Manager - Data Security Platform, you will be reporting to the Director of Product Management. While the rest of the security industry obsesses over locking data down to prevent it from being lost or stolen, we're doing something fundamentally different at Virtru. We're setting data free so that you can intentionally share it with others, but without sacrificing security, privacy, or control. We've created both a suite of powerful data protection applications and an open platform that's sparking an ecosystem of innovation. Through the Trusted Data Format (TDF) open standard, we're not just protecting data; we're creating a new paradigm where security enables sharing rather than preventing it.
Job Responsibility:
Define and execute the Data Security Platform Vision, balancing customer needs, partner requirements, developer experience, and technical feasibility . Contribute to strategic priorities and roadmap development with a focus on multi-deployment models (on-premises, cloud-hosted, and hybrid) and ecosystem interoperability
Champion the developer community by understanding their needs and pain points when building on or integrating with the platform. Refine APIs, integrations, and documentation requirements that make the Data Security Platform a powerful, accessible foundation for building data protection solutions. Collaborate with engineering to ensure excellent developer tooling and resources
Engage deeply with developers to understand workflows, compliance requirements, security challenges, and use cases. Conduct customer interviews, analyze usage data, and synthesize feedback from diverse stakeholders to inform product decisions
Lead product thinking around the platform's ability to interoperate with specialized security solutions—including external key management systems, content extraction tools, tagging solutions, and other enterprise security infrastructure. Identify and prioritize integration opportunities that amplify platform value
Requirements:
3-7+ years of product management in enterprise B2B, with a strong preference for experience in enterprise security, data protection, or data-centric solutions
Deep understanding of enterprise software development, deployment models, and the complexity of on-premises vs. cloud-hosted solutions. Familiarity with hybrid architectures and enterprise IT decision-making processes
Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts. Comfortable discussing APIs, SDKs, integrations, system architecture, and developer tooling without requiring hands-on coding experience. Willingness to dive deep into technical documentation and specifications
Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to map concepts and solutions across industries, verticals, and use cases. Comfortable synthesizing information from diverse sources and finding creative connections between customer needs and platform capabilities
Solid foundational knowledge of data security, privacy, and encryption concepts. Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, CMMC and ITAR
Nice to have:
Thinking outside of the box to respectfully challenge your teammates and managers in the pursuit of excellence
Strong sense of urgency with an action-oriented mindset
