Job Description

As a Technical Product Manager - Data Security Platform, you will be reporting to the Director of Product Management. While the rest of the security industry obsesses over locking data down to prevent it from being lost or stolen, we're doing something fundamentally different at Virtru. We're setting data free so that you can intentionally share it with others, but without sacrificing security, privacy, or control. We've created both a suite of powerful data protection applications and an open platform that's sparking an ecosystem of innovation. Through the Trusted Data Format (TDF) open standard, we're not just protecting data; we're creating a new paradigm where security enables sharing rather than preventing it.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and execute the Data Security Platform Vision, balancing customer needs, partner requirements, developer experience, and technical feasibility . Contribute to strategic priorities and roadmap development with a focus on multi-deployment models (on-premises, cloud-hosted, and hybrid) and ecosystem interoperability
  • Champion the developer community by understanding their needs and pain points when building on or integrating with the platform. Refine APIs, integrations, and documentation requirements that make the Data Security Platform a powerful, accessible foundation for building data protection solutions. Collaborate with engineering to ensure excellent developer tooling and resources
  • Engage deeply with developers to understand workflows, compliance requirements, security challenges, and use cases. Conduct customer interviews, analyze usage data, and synthesize feedback from diverse stakeholders to inform product decisions
  • Lead product thinking around the platform's ability to interoperate with specialized security solutions—including external key management systems, content extraction tools, tagging solutions, and other enterprise security infrastructure. Identify and prioritize integration opportunities that amplify platform value

Requirements

  • 3-7+ years of product management in enterprise B2B, with a strong preference for experience in enterprise security, data protection, or data-centric solutions
  • Deep understanding of enterprise software development, deployment models, and the complexity of on-premises vs. cloud-hosted solutions. Familiarity with hybrid architectures and enterprise IT decision-making processes
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts. Comfortable discussing APIs, SDKs, integrations, system architecture, and developer tooling without requiring hands-on coding experience. Willingness to dive deep into technical documentation and specifications
  • Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to map concepts and solutions across industries, verticals, and use cases. Comfortable synthesizing information from diverse sources and finding creative connections between customer needs and platform capabilities
  • Solid foundational knowledge of data security, privacy, and encryption concepts. Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, CMMC and ITAR

Nice to have

  • Thinking outside of the box to respectfully challenge your teammates and managers in the pursuit of excellence
  • Strong sense of urgency with an action-oriented mindset
  • Able to collaborate and adapt to shifting priorities as business needs evolve
  • Comfortable with asynchronous communication including slack, email, zoom, etc.

What we offer

  • A Flexible PTO policy — we strongly encourage you to take time off (in addition to 14 holidays) to ensure that you are getting the proper time needed to unplug and recharge
  • A $1,500 annual Learning & Development Stipend focused on providing you the resources to continually learn and professionally grow
  • Frequent company-sponsored team celebrations that provide ample opportunities to connect with teammates and be social
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program
  • Access to Headspace, a mental health app tailored to your specific needs
  • A flat 3% contribution to your retirement account
  • A high degree of flexibility — Have an appointment, errand, or family emergency to take care of? Hop to it! We give you the time and space to take care of you and your own first
  • Competitive compensation
  • Generous parental, medical, and bereavement policies
  • 401K contribution and stock options
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • New Hire Swag and IT Welcome boxes
  • Structured semi-annual 360° performance reviews
