Museum of Illusions is seeking a Technical Procurement Specialist to support both, our Procurement and R&D teams. As a Technical Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods while maintaining quality and compliance. Due to the technical nature of our projects, we are seeking a candidate with hands-on experience in technical procurement and a strong understanding of procurement processes in an environment involving prototyping, mechanical components, electronics, production materials, and specialized manufacturing services. This role requires a technical background and the ability to understand technical specifications, materials, and production workflows.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage end-to-end technical procurement of equipment, materials, components, and services required for exhibit development and prototype production
  • Conduct supplier research, identify optimal technical solutions, materials, and vendors
  • Prepare RFQs, gather and evaluate quotations, and assess technical and financial feasibility
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels for R&D materials, components, and consumables
  • Create purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and oversee incoming goods distribution
  • Coordinate logistics between external suppliers, production partners, and internal locations (prototype lab, workshops, project teams)
  • Handle administrative processing of invoices and ensure alignment with purchase orders
  • Prepare reports and track R&D department budgets
  • support procurement planning
  • Work closely with R&D engineers and designers to understand technical requirements and support efficient project execution
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal procurement processes and warehouse operations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, associate degree, or university degree in a technical, or economics field (engineering background preferred)
  • Previous experience in technical procurement is required, ideally in an R&D, prototyping, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, electronics, or similar technical environment
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications, materials, components, and basic manufacturing processes
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel)
  • Experience working with ERP systems is an advantage
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Valid category B driving license
