BAE Systems is looking for well qualified professionals to join our team for an exciting opportunity to support the readiness and sustainment of the US Air Force ICBM program. The ICBM System Program Office must ensure a safe, secure, and reliable Minuteman III (MM III) weapon system as required by the war fighter (Air Force Global Strike Command) through 2030. This activity is identified as the Integration Support Contract. The contract assists in acquisition and technical sustainment engineering and augments government resources. The contract provides breadth and depth of capabilities for system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, mission effectiveness, and ICBM Demonstration/Validation. The position is located at Hill AFB, Utah. Successful candidates will develop, write and edit material for technical publications including changes and rewrites, time compliant technical orders (TCTOs), technical order page supplements (TOPS), reports, briefs, instruction manuals, catalogs and other technical publications concerned with engineering or related technical disciplines.
Job Responsibility:
Reviews instructions, regulations, and guidelines, and similar material to become familiar with product or process terminology
Reviews drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, testing and service of equipment
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and details
Organizes material and performs writing assignments according to specifications regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
Writes technical descriptions using knowledge of material standards, industrial processes and operating procedures
Reviews published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content
Selects photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams or charts to illustrate materials or sequences
Edits material for spelling, grammar, syntax, capitalization, consistency, format and conformance to specifications
Ensures document format, performance, physical characteristics and testing requirements meet contract specifications
Maintains records and files of work and revisions
Coordinates TO editing activities
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
6+ Years relevant experience with a high school diploma
4+ Years relevant experience with an Associate's Degree
2+ Years relevant experience with a Bachelor's of Science Degree
0+ Years relevant experience with a Master's Degree
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of grammar, writing, punctuation, editing practices and style practices
Ability to review contractor provided technical data/manuals that must often be tailored or modified to fix language and configuration of existing related ICBM weapon system technical data
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in technical writing is preferred but not required with the appropriate demonstrable experience
Knowledge of digital standard generalized markup language (SGML) Software
Knowledge of technical data management policies
Knowledge of the Air Force Technical Order Management system
