Carex is partnering with a non-profit association partner to hire a Technical Operations Project Manager. This strategic and hands-on leadership role will oversee the organization’s IT strategy, infrastructure, systems integration, and software development operations. The Technical Operations Project Manager will lead technology modernization initiatives while supporting day-to-day operational needs across business systems, applications, and infrastructure. This individual will work closely with executive leadership and operational teams to align technology initiatives with organizational priorities while ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable systems that support organizational growth and member services.
Job Responsibility
Lead and manage the organization’s IT department, technology roadmap, and long-term strategic initiatives
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of IT professionals, including software developers and technical support staff
Align technology initiatives with operational goals and organizational priorities
Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, security standards, and technology best practices
Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, software partners, and service providers
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and lifecycle management for IT systems and infrastructure
Provide leadership and operational oversight for core business platforms and system integrations
Manage and optimize systems including iMIS, TopClass LMS, HubSpot, Acumatica, Umbraco CMS, SQL databases, GitHub repositories, and workflow automation tools
Oversee system architecture, integrations, data workflows, and application performance across multiple platforms
Ensure the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of organizational technology systems
Support software development operations, deployment processes, and ongoing application maintenance
Collaborate with internal departments to identify opportunities for process improvement through technology solutions
Assist with troubleshooting and escalation of complex technical and system-related issues
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to systems, infrastructure, and operational workflows
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field
equivalent experience considered
7+ years of progressive IT leadership or senior technical management experience
Experience leading technical teams and managing cross-functional technology initiatives
Strong understanding of enterprise systems, integrations, databases, and business applications
Experience supporting CRM, AMS, LMS, CMS, ERP, or similar enterprise platforms
Working knowledge of SQL databases and reporting systems
Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical problem solving
Experience managing software development operations and technical workflows
Ability to effectively manage multiple systems, projects, and competing priorities simultaneously
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build trust across technical and operational teams
Nice to have
Experience with association management systems, including iMIS
Familiarity with Umbraco CMS, HubSpot, Acumatica, TopClass LMS, SQL, and GitHub workflows
Experience overseeing in-house software development teams
Understanding of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, and systems integration architecture
Experience supporting nonprofit, association, or membership-based organizations
