Technical officer – pavement laboratories (asphalt & bitumen)

• Teaching & Research Support: Assisting with laboratory activities involving Hot, Warm, and Cold Asphalt and Bitumen for both students and researchers
• Asset Management: Overseeing equipment maintenance, servicing, and calibration schedules while maintaining accurate asset registers
• Laboratory Governance: Managing consumables, stock control, and ordering to ensure seamless daily operations
• Compliance & Safety: Preparing and reviewing critical documentation (SOPs, ERAs, and SWIs) and ensuring the safe handling of materials according to regulatory standards
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance laboratory systems and operational efficiency

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Proven experience in laboratory operations and equipment maintenance
• A solid understanding of laboratory safety and compliance frameworks
• Proficiency in preparing technical documentation and risk assessments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders (academics, students, and external vendors)

Prior experience working within a university or research laboratory environment
