Job Description

Robert Half is partnering with our client in this search, a Fortune 500 leader in the technology and digital products industry, to hire a Technical Motion Designer for a highly collaborative product and engineering team focused on building innovative, interactive user experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for a motion design professional who thrives at the intersection of animation, front-end development, and product experience design.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and implement complex, interactive animations using Rive across product experiences and digital interfaces
  • Develop animation logic, state machines, databinds, and responsive motion behaviors within production environments
  • Translate motion concepts and UX interactions into scalable, performance-optimized assets and systems
  • Design expressive, real-time motion experiences that enhance usability, engagement, and product storytelling
  • Support integration of motion systems into front-end applications and live product environments
  • Partner closely with product designers, UX teams, and engineers to align motion behaviors with user experience goals
  • Work collaboratively with front-end engineering teams to ensure seamless animation implementation and performance optimization
  • Help establish scalable workflows, best practices, and reusable motion frameworks across product teams
  • Contribute to design system evolution through reusable motion components and standardized interaction patterns
  • Debug, iterate, and refine animations directly within code and implementation environments
  • Optimize motion systems for scalability, responsiveness, maintainability, and runtime performance
  • Build tools and processes that allow teams to modify or control Rive files dynamically at runtime
  • Operate independently in a fast-paced environment while managing priorities, timelines, and deliverables with minimal oversight

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in motion design, UX motion, interactive design, or related fields
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience working with Rive in production environments
  • Strong expertise with: State machines
  • Advanced databinds and animation logic
  • Complex interactive animation systems
  • Strong understanding of animation principles including timing, easing, choreography, and responsive interaction behavior
  • Experience integrating motion systems into real-world products in partnership with engineering teams — not solely prototype work
  • Strong front-end technical understanding with experience working in code-driven environments
  • Ability to independently own motion implementation and collaborate effectively across design and engineering teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with React, React Native, or similar front-end frameworks
  • Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript skills
  • Experience building reusable motion systems or contributing to design systems
  • Familiarity with tools such as After Effects or related animation platforms
  • Interest in interactive, real-time, or generative animation experiences
  • Creative degree or related educational background preferred

What we offer

  • medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance
  • enrollment in company 401(k) plan
