An established food manufacturing business are looking for talented Technical Manager to take full ownership of food safety, quality and compliance at site level. Set within a fast-paced FMCG environment, with autonomy and influence. You'll lead a small technical team and act as the key point of contact for audits, customers and senior leadership, ensuring standards are consistently met and continuously improved. Job Responsibility:
Full accountability for food safety, quality and legality across the site
Lead and manage all internal, customer and third-party audits, maintaining audit readiness at all times
Line management and development of the Technical Team, including QA, QC, hygiene oversight and pest control providers
Embed a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the operation
Develop and deliver the site technical strategy, aligned with business objectives
Monitor and report on technical performance using KPIs, complaints data, non-conformances and trend analysis
Ensure all customer and regulatory visits are professionally managed
Provide clear, accurate technical reporting to senior leadership
Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and people
Requirements:
Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related discipline
Significant experience within food manufacturing, including several years in a technical leadership role
Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP and retailer standards
Knowledge of BRC compliance and proven audit experience
Experience leading and developing small technical teams
Highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working at pace
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Good IT capability, including Microsoft Office and quality systems
