We are working in partnership with a well-established food manufacturing business to recruit a Technical Manager for a brand-new position within their core technical function. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and drive food safety, quality, and technical standards across the site.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and drive food safety and product quality standards across the site
Ensure full compliance with BRC, HACCP, and retailer requirements
Act as the primary technical contact for retailers and customers
Manage and investigate customer complaints, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actions
Lead and host site audits and visits, including BRC and retailer audits
Oversee and continuously improve the supplier approval and monitoring process
Manage, lead, and develop the Technical and Quality team
Own and deliver the internal audit schedule
Contribute as a key member of the site leadership team, supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Technical Manager or equivalent senior technical role
Extensive experience with BRC standards and HACCP systems
Strong experience working directly with major retailers
Demonstrated ability to lead audits (BRC and retailer)
Ability to lead, influence, and develop a technical team
Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive high food safety standards
Food Safety and HACCP qualifications
Degree in a relevant food or scientific discipline
