The Technical Manager – Cutsheets is responsible for the governance, accuracy and approval of all product specification documentation, known as cutsheets, used across projects. The role ensures that all materials, equipment and systems selected for deployment meet technical design requirements, client specifications and industry standards. The postholder will act as a critical control point between Design, Procurement and Project Delivery, ensuring approved product information is technically accurate, compliant and aligned to project requirements.
Job Responsibility
Review and validate cutsheets against project design specifications, client requirements and standards, and regulatory and industry compliance requirements
Ensure all products meet performance, capacity and installation criteria prior to approval, and provide technical sign-off for product selection where required
Own the preparation and quality of technical submittal packages
Ensure all cutsheets are accurate, complete, version controlled, traceable and submitted in line with project timelines
Act as the central point of contact for all cutsheet-related queries
Work closely with Design and Engineering teams to validate design intent, Procurement teams to ensure correct product ordering, and Project Delivery teams to support installation and resolve issues
Ensure alignment between approved cutsheets, Bills of Materials and installed solutions
Develop and maintain cutsheet templates and document standards, naming conventions, filing structures and best practice guidance for project teams
Drive consistency across all regions and projects
Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain up-to-date cutsheets and technical documentation, clarify specifications and resolve discrepancies
Support the evaluation of alternative products and value engineering options
Identify and mitigate risks relating to incorrect product selection, non-compliance with specifications and delays in client approvals
Support issue resolution where installed products deviate from approved cutsheets
Engage with clients, consultants and third-party stakeholders as required
Support technical reviews, audits and approvals, and present cutsheet documentation where necessary
Requirements
Proven experience in a technical, design or engineering role within data centres, structured cabling, construction or MEP environments
Experience reviewing technical documentation, specifications and submittals, including product data sheets, cutsheets, Bills of Materials and engineering drawings
Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, including copper and fibre, data centre infrastructure components, installation and design standards
Ability to interpret technical specifications, performance data and compliance requirements
Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Experience using document management systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and SharePoint

Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline
Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, TIA or BICSI
Knowledge of structured cabling manufacturers such as CommScope, Panduit or Leviton
Understanding of submittal and approval processes within construction projects
Experience with AutoCAD or similar drawing/design tools and project or document control platforms such as Aconex, Procore or BIM tools
