Join us as a Technical Lead - AVP at Barclays, where you'll take part in the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You'll harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionize our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. As a part of the team, you will deliver technology stack, using strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand the business requirements and deliver quality solutions. You'll be working on complex technical problems that will involve detailed analytical skills and analysis. This will be done in conjunction with fellow engineers, business analysts and business stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability

Requirements:

  • Experience with clean coding on Java and Java based frameworks like Spring Boot
  • Knowledge with development of RESTful web services
  • Excellent working experience in latest Java versions
  • Understanding of Microservice design patterns
  • Understand of Enterprise Container Platforms, Openshift, AWS etc.
  • Knowledge on modern database technologies like MongoDB
  • Knowledge on testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, Cucumber
  • Understanding of SCM, packaging and build tools – GIT, Gitlab and Gradle
  • Knowledge of Test Driven, behavior driven development, with a passion for test automation

  • Knowledge of working within Financial Services industry
