Job Description

Do you have a passion for technology and are you someone who likes to maintain an overview when technical problems arise? Do you get energy from troubleshooting, coaching, and supporting a technical team in a production environment? Then you might be the Technical Lead we are looking for for our night shift in Ypres. In this position, you play a key role within our production environment. You support technicians with technical malfunctions, ensure that machines continue to run optimally, and help build efficient and high-quality production. You will find yourself in a modern, high-tech environment where precise technical work is central.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing and coaching a team of approximately 8 technical employees during the night shift
  • Providing support during technical malfunctions and complex troubleshooting
  • Analyzing and resolving technical problems on the production floor
  • Coordinating technical escalations with other departments
  • Monitoring the performance of machines and installations
  • Distribution and follow-up of technical tasks within the shift
  • Actively participating in technical improvement projects
  • Supporting the training and development of technical employees
  • Assisting in following up on practical personnel matters within the shift

Requirements

  • Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience
  • Relevant experience within a technical production environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and (electro)pneumatics is a major asset
  • Experience with electrical measurements and technical analyses
  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
  • Interest in precision technical work with compact machines
  • Experience in coaching or managing a team is a plus
  • Good communication skills and team-oriented Attitude
  • Analytical, stress-resistant, and solution-oriented
  • Good knowledge of English and basic knowledge of Dutch

  • Liaise with the Technical Lead to discuss improvements to add value to the machining process consistently raising the bar on standards and leading by example
  • Work closely with engineering, supply chain and quality colleagues to constantly “raise the bar” on process improvement, cost reduction and standards
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality and liaise with the Technical Lead with any machine issues that affect quality and production
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand using engineering drawings
  • Inspect and measure finished products and determine if the process has been completed properly, engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional standards are maintained
  • Liaise with Lead/Manager to ensure high standards of work and on time delivery in accordance with the business needs
