Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Fredericton, N.B to work on local and international mining and resource projects. Your experience will be applied to the planning, investigation, assessment, design and construction of tailings and water dams and waste storage for mining clients. Career development can be managed to support personal preferences such as niche, technical design specialists, or project participation in both technical dam engineering scopes and project management, or all-round dam engineering specialists, such as the responsible persons or Engineers of Record.
Job Responsibility
Design tailing storage facilities for global mining projects
Participate in dam safety inspections, dam safety reviews, and the development of dam safety systems
Guide, mentor, and train more junior staff through the methodologies of TSF design solutions
Act as senior technical resource within your project team(s) for the delivery of mine waste projects
Build client rapport as projects progress from feasibility through to mine closure
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to develop well rounded solutions for clients
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and other project specific documentation
Expand your knowledge by attending conferences and trainings
Requirements
A degree in civil or geotechnical engineering: a master’s degree is considered an asset
20+ years of relevant experience in civil or geotechnical related projects (preferably for mining or related industries), with a track record of continued development
You must be eligible to register as professional engineer (P.Eng) in Canada
Working knowledge of geotechnical software packages including PLAXIS, FLAC, and SLOPE/W
General understanding of mining-related regulations and industry best practices
Effective verbal and written English communication skills, with demonstrated report writing skills
Valid driver’s license
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
