Job Description

Based in our Morristown location, the Technical Inside Sales / Product Specialist plays a key role in supporting customers with expert guidance across product selection, technical application, and project‑specific requirements. This position serves as a primary resource for evaluating specifications, preparing bid proposals, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring customers receive accurate, timely, and solutions‑focused support. Must have previous experience in Plumbing & HVAC.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as a technical resource for customers, advising on product usage, suitability, and alternatives for specific projects
  • Provide guidance on bid proposals, specifications, pricing, and sourcing strategies
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and offer solutions based on product knowledge and experience
  • Conduct product testing and calculations to determine proper calibration for unique applications
  • Collaborate with inside and outside sales teams to source materials and prepare quotes that meet technical specifications
  • Recommend pricing adjustments and product additions or removals to maintain competitiveness and support business growth
  • Assist customers in obtaining specialty materials through purchase orders or inter‑branch product transfers
  • Maintain strong, effective customer relationships by serving as a key point of contact
  • Provide proactive communication regarding long‑lead purchase orders, order changes, and project updates
  • Deliver high‑level customer service to enhance the customer experience and support their business growth
  • Develop strategies to meet and exceed corporate growth goals
  • Monitor market trends and customer needs to recommend inventory and pricing adjustments
  • Act as an extension of the customer, anticipating needs and offering solutions that strengthen the partnership

Requirements

  • Experience in a technical discipline such as plumbing, heating, or HVAC/R is essential
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • experience in sales, marketing, or customer service is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve multifaceted technical issues
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, email, internet tools, and web browsers
  • Superior technical knowledge in one or more relevant product disciplines
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced office environment
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support and market company products effectively
