Job Description

This is a hands-on leadership role where you won’t be stuck behind a desk. You’ll be out in the field, working alongside your team, making decisions, and driving how work gets done across a critical electricity network. You’ll be joining a well-established contracting business delivering a long-term programme of work on the Powerco network, with a solid pipeline, strong backing, and a team that takes real pride in what they do. This is a 70% field / 30% planning role, giving you the best of both worlds, leading on the ground while staying close to the bigger picture.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading and supporting a crew of technicians, fitters, and cable jointers
  • Planning and coordinating staff, plant, and resources to keep work moving
  • Driving performance in the field, setting the standard for safety, quality, and productivity
  • Overseeing fault response, maintenance, and project work across the network
  • Coaching and developing your team to lift capability and build a strong culture
  • Working closely with project teams and stakeholders to deliver outcomes

Requirements

  • Solid experience in electricity distribution / power system construction
  • Proven ability to lead field-based teams and get the best out of people
  • Strong understanding of network operations (faults, maintenance, protection)
  • EWRB registration and practising licence (or close to it)
  • Full Class 1 licence
