Job Responsibility:
Provide primary technical engineering expertise and leadership in resolving manufacturing issues in the Operations, Quality, Customer Support and Supply Chain departments
Perform technical engineering audits of suppliers and follow-up on corrective actions
Develop in-service Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection procedures for various aircraft platforms
Design NDT Calibration Reference Standards for in-service use
Participate to the development of technical engineering documents related to NDT processes
Offer NDT engineering-specific expertise and support to the Bombardier Experimental group for the inspection of test rigs
Participate to research and development projects involving new materials and emerging/advanced NDT technologies
Be required to handle difficult issues and make challenging technical engineering decisions
Requirements:
Engineering degree or college diploma in engineering (Materials, Metallurgy or Mechanical)
Ten (10) years of experience
Certified as a NAS-410 NDT Level 3 or Level 2 in Ultrasonic testing
Certified in or have in-depth knowledge of one of the following inspection methods: Radiography, Eddy Current, Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Infrared Thermography testing
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Ultrasonic inspection of aerospace composite material in a production environment, using automated and/or semi-automated Ultrasonic inspection systems
Knowledgeable about typical NDT aerospace codes and standards, NADCAP, and with the development of non-destructive inspection procedures
Familiar with the NDT inspection methodologies of composite materials, assemblies, aircraft structures, aerospace terminology and technical drawings
Know how to conduct NDT technical audits in-line with your field of expertise
Shown strong leadership, problem solving, project and time/priority management skills in past assignments and require minimum supervision
Accept to travel occasionally on a last-minute notice
Good working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) both in French and English
