Job Description:

Technical Estimator to be based at Meru, Klang, Malaysia. Accurately quantify materials, liaise with clients, review design drawings, and provide technical assistance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accurately quantify the total m2 of materials required and its associated accessories items for projects
  • Liaise with clients and teammates regarding value engineering oppotunities and facade layout optimisation of live projects and projects in the tender stage
  • Using AutoCAD and proprietary company software, review clients' design drawings and provide accurate estimation
  • Produce elevation and detailed sectional drawings of a project when necessary
  • Ensuring all documentation received from a client is comprehensive enough to provide an accurate estimation
  • Provide accurate lump sum estimations
  • Advise on possible quantity implications / variations if design changes
  • Assist in the assessment of any possible improvement areas from the commercial aspect of the business
  • Liaise with sales organizations to improve the content of information and the process of handover to the client
  • Provide technical assistance to the sales, technical and marketing organization
  • Provide technical assistance to all our clients/partners
  • Provide assistance with internal technical projects where required
  • Assist with updating/producing technical documents where required

Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in construction / civil / mechanical / engineering / architecture with a minimum 1 year working experience as drafter/estimator in the building sector
  • Able to understand and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings and technical sepcifications
  • Practical, administratively very accurate and have good organizational skills
  • Have a strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel-Words-Power Point) and Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Good command of English langauge is a prerequisite. The candidate must have skills in both written and spoken
  • Excellent capacity to plan and organize his/her job, projects and strategies
  • Able to work under minimal supervision, independently or as part of a team and easy interaction with internal and external teammates and business associates
  • Possess a positive attitude and good communication skills dealing with all relevant parties
  • Willing to take additional responsibilities and to take the lead where required
  • Must be willing to undertake travel internationally when required

Nice to have:

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply as this is an entry level position
  • Diploma holder with many years of working experience can also be considered
  • Experinece in facade construction and working/studying in an international organisation setup is an asset
  • Knowledge of other architectural software e.g. ArchiCAD abd Revit is an advantage
  • Other language skills in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and/or European languages are added advantage
