Job Description:

We are pleased to offer, on behalf of our client, an opportunity for an experienced professional to join their team as an Engineering Insurance specialist. This role has come about due to growth plans and will develop and recommend underwriting strategies for new Engineering Insurance products, setting rules, terms, and risk features to achieve profit and growth objectives while effectively managing insurance risk in line with the overall strategy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborating with the Propositions department and key stakeholders to set growth targets and define risk appetite
  • Converting underwriting appetite into practical rules, processes, and communications for their agents and Underwriters to optimize sales performance
  • Providing expert judgment on risk rates using deep insurance and market knowledge
  • Analysing management information to enhance our underwriting strategy and meet business needs

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in underwriting or brokering Engineering Breakdown Insurance
  • Technically proficient
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinker with project management experience, ideally in a head office role
  • Deep knowledge of the Engineering Insurance market
  • Skilled negotiator and collaborator
  • Effective communicator
  • High data literacy, with ability to derive insights from data
