Job Description

The Technical Engineering & Quality Leader is responsible for leading process optimization efforts while leading a team of engineering salaried direct reports as well as organizational responsibility for multi-process focus for maximized productivity. This individual creates plans, strategizes, and evaluates quality assurance process through examining the systems, measures, and statistical techniques. S/he will ensure process optimization, TPM tool utilization, successful glass chemistry, reduction of waste and implementing engineering solutions for long-term proactive success. This position is a member of the Plant Natural Leadership Team (NLT).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
  • At least 7-10 years of progressive technical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to cross-functional team leadership or participation outside of manufacturing
  • A history of hiring, growing, and promoting talent within the organization
  • Experience meeting customer demands
  • Continuously builds an intimate insight and knowledge of technical processes, production lines and their products
  • Understand what is necessary for the asset to be productive and the value that our current and future assets bring to the business
  • Utilize data and data collection systems, and Six Sigma methods for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs
