Technical Director / Technical Theatre Instructor

• Provide hands-on instruction in scenic construction, including best safety practices
• Teach students the fundamentals of lighting design, hanging & focusing of light plot, and programming of light board
• Educate on sound design, including audio equipment setup, operation, and live performance mixing
• Offer expertise in theatrical fabrication & rigging and appropriate safety procedures
• Instruct students on the use of computer aided drafting and its uses in theatre
• Mentor and motivate students with a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment that allows students to explore and take risks
• Collaborate with technical coordination with the directors, choreographers, designers, and conductors to ensure continuity of productions
• Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
• Serve as Technical Director for Main Stage, Black Box, and other productions (this duty will be shared with other Technical Theatre faculty members and/or outside artists). This includes technical support for other departments (Instrumental, Vocal, Dance etc) as needed.

• BA or BFA in Theatre Arts, Design/Production, or related field. Master's Degree preferred
• Experience teaching in the arts in a high school or collegiate environment and/or related professional experience in technical direction and/or design/production
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends periodically based on production schedule.
