With demand increasing and our technical community expanding, this role will play a pivotal part in strengthening the discipline and improving how we deliver for clients.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the day‑to‑day administration, wellbeing, and development of the SAVI SESA Team
Support capability growth and technical excellence across our broader Systems Engineering community
Act as a subject matter expert in Systems Engineering and/or Safety Assurance for Australian clients
Take on lead roles in major Aurecon projects, embedding systems thinking and assurance leadership
Provide internal consulting to multidisciplinary teams to improve project outcomes and technical rigour
Shape future strategic direction across multiple sectors (Rail, Water, Defence) and strengthen our national capability
Requirements:
15+ years’ experience across multiple systems engineering domains and project lifecycle stages
Experience across different industries, ideally including rail, transport, water, or broader infrastructure
A track record of “making the complex simple”, advocating for systems thinking, and tailoring the textbook to real‑world project conditions
Demonstrated team leadership experience and an understanding of the difference between leadership and management
A strong consulting mindset with the ability to cultivate and build excellent client relationships
Ongoing commitment to professional development, accreditation, and staying current with industry practices
A vision for how Systems Engineering can better support complex infrastructure delivery – and the willingness to drive that forward
