Job Description

The need for Systems Engineers to lead and manage complex infrastructure delivery has never been greater. Job Responsibility

  • Lead the day‑to‑day administration, wellbeing, and development of the SAVI SESA Team
  • Support capability growth and technical excellence across our broader Systems Engineering community
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Systems Engineering and/or Safety Assurance for Australian clients
  • Take on lead roles in major Aurecon projects, embedding systems thinking and assurance leadership
  • Provide internal consulting to multidisciplinary teams to improve project outcomes and technical rigour
  • Shape future strategic direction across multiple sectors (Rail, Water, Defence) and strengthen our national capability

Requirements

  • 15+ years’ experience across multiple systems engineering domains and project lifecycle stages
  • Experience across different industries, ideally including rail, transport, water, or broader infrastructure
  • A track record of “making the complex simple”, advocating for systems thinking, and tailoring the textbook to real‑world project conditions
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience and an understanding of the difference between leadership and management
  • A strong consulting mindset with the ability to cultivate and build excellent client relationships
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development, accreditation, and staying current with industry practices
  • A vision for how Systems Engineering can better support complex infrastructure delivery – and the willingness to drive that forward
