Lead the technical direction of complex tunnel, underground, and geotechnical infrastructure projects across India. Provide engineering leadership, oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage key client relationships, and contribute to the growth of Lombardi Engineering India's underground infrastructure practice.
Job Responsibility
Act as the principal technical authority for feasibility studies, DPRs, detailed design, and construction-stage engineering services for tunnel and underground infrastructure projects
Lead and review geotechnical, structural, tunnel, and multidisciplinary design activities, ensuring compliance with national and international standards
Provide technical oversight for TBM, NATM/SEM, drill-and-blast tunnels, deep excavations, shafts, caverns, and underground transportation and hydropower infrastructure
Manage and mentor engineering teams, establish QA/QC processes, and coordinate with Lombardi Group's international specialists and technical experts
Serve as the primary technical interface with clients, government authorities, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project delivery
Support business development activities, including technical proposals, strategic client engagement, and identification of new project opportunities
Provide technical advisory support during construction, including design reviews, engineering assessments, risk management, and independent checking assignments
Represent Lombardi Engineering India at industry forums, technical committees, academic reviews, and professional conferences
Requirements
B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with Masters or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or Underground Construction
More than 20 years of professional experience, including significant leadership responsibility on major underground infrastructure, tunnelling, or geotechnical projects
Proven experience in design and delivery of TBM and/or conventional tunnelling projects, underground structures, metro, railway, highway, water, or hydropower infrastructure
Chartered Engineer, Fellow, or equivalent professional accreditation preferred
Strong technical leadership, client management, business development, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
Experience working with multidisciplinary and international project teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to represent the company at senior client and industry levels
