Job Description:

As part of the development of a new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) product, SAFT is seeking a Technical Manager to lead development activities across mechanical and electrotechnical scopes of grid-scale battery systems. The role involves close coordination with discipline leads, system engineering teams, and the project manager to ensure successful execution of the development phase.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and coordinate technical development activities related to mechanical and electrotechnical components of BESS systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including system engineers, package owners, and project management
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project execution plan
  • Identify critical paths and ensure adherence to project timelines
  • Assess technical risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Drive resolution of technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables and project objectives

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (Bac+5) in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering
  • Experience in technical management of complex industrial projects (BESS or battery systems preferred)
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrotechnical design
  • Experience with WBS, risk management, and project planning
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Fluency in English and French

Nice to have:

  • Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Familiarity with grid-scale battery systems
