Job Description:

The Technical Developer for PKMS role at NTT DATA requires 5-8 years of experience in WMS administration, particularly with Manhattan PkMS. The candidate will manage logistics operations, configure PkMS components, and ensure system integrity. Strong SQL and scripting skills are essential, along with experience in incident and change management. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with AIX/Linux/Windows Server and knowledge of carrier integrations. Certifications such as ITIL and GS1 barcode are advantageous.

Job Responsibility:

  • Configure and maintain PkMS components (allocation, cartonization, wave planning, replenishment, slotting, packing, shipping, returns)
  • Manage environments (DEV/UAT/PROD)
  • plan and execute upgrades, patches, and hotfix deployments with rollback strategies
  • Administer user roles, profiles, permissions, menu paths, and operational controls
  • Monitor and tune batch jobs, queues, and interface processes (FTP/MQ/API)
  • ensure EDI/ASN data integrity and timely acknowledgments
  • Troubleshoot functional issues (e.g., pick/ship discrepancies, wave failures, label routing), and resolve root causes across application, DB, and infra layers
  • Configure Telnet/TE sessions, device groups, screen reformatting, and session persistence for Zebra/Honeywell RF devices
  • Manage firmware/configuration rollout, device enrollment, and keepalive strategies to reduce session drops
  • Monitor RF performance and triage connectivity issues (Wi‑Fi, DHCP, certificates, firewall rules)
  • collaborate with Network/Infra
  • Design, version, and deploy labels and documents (shipping labels, carton labels, packing slips, compliance labels) using MarkMagic
  • Implement GS1, UCC/EAN/GTIN, SSCC, AI standards
  • ensure carrier compliance (e.g., UPS/FedEx/DHL, retail mandates)
  • Orchestrate print queues, templates, and routing rules
  • manage Zebra/Honeywell/Printronix printers
  • optimize DPI/speed/media
  • Own SLA performance (uptime, response/resolution), incident/problem/change management (ITIL)
  • Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and configuration documentation
  • lead operator training and hypercare for major releases
  • Partner with DC operations, IT, and vendors on continuous improvement (cycle time, pick accuracy, label defects, RF stability)

Requirements:

  • 5–8+ years in WMS administration (preferably Manhattan PkMS or WMOS), supporting live DC operations
  • Hands‑on with StayLinked (Telnet/TE for RF), device sessions, screen reformatting, groups, policies
  • Hands‑on with MarkMagic (CYBRA) for label/forms design, template management, print routing, and printer setup
  • Strong logistics domain knowledge: inbound (ASN/receiving), inventory, putaway, slotting, wave planning, picking, packing, shipping, returns, yard/door scheduling
  • Technical skills: SQL (Oracle/DB2), shell scripting (AIX/Linux), log analysis, job scheduling, and performance tuning
  • Experience with barcode standards (Code128, QR, Interleaved 2 of 5), GS1 data structures, SSCC and pallet/carton labeling
  • RF/printer fleet management: Zebra/Honeywell devices, Wi‑Fi basics (WPA2/3, roaming), print drivers, media calibration
  • Strong incident management, root‑cause analysis, stakeholder communication, and documentation skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience with AIX/Linux/Windows Server for PkMS hosting
  • Knowledge of carrier integrations, EDI X12 (856/940/945), message brokers (MQ), and Sterling Integrator (or similar)
  • Exposure to MHE (conveyors, put‑to‑light, voice picking), Pick/Put Wall processes, and slotting optimization
  • Scripting/automation (Python/PowerShell), dashboards (Grafana/ELK), or label QA automation
  • Certifications: ITIL, GS1 barcode, Zebra setup/maintenance, or Manhattan platform training
