Job Description:

We are looking for a freelance Technical Designer for a top fashion company in City of Industry, CA! Pay Rate: $38-43/hour fully onsite in City of Industry, CA!

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for fit, construction, quality, and consistency of assigned product category from development to production
  • Work closely with Product Development to track and maintain approval deadlines
  • Support and fill in for Lead Technical Designer
  • Knowledge and ability to lead fittings and make decisions independently
  • Attend meetings with Merchants, Product Development, and design weekly to review work in progress, best and worst sellers and discuss updates and changes for the week within each category
  • Mentor and assist the assistant and associate technical designers

Requirements:

  • High School required a four (4)-year college degree in fashion merchandising/design preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in technical design, pattern making, or quality assurance, or a combination of education with equivalent work experience
  • Previous technical design experience is desirable
  • Previous retail or garment manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, and Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fit, balance, pattern grading, garment construction/production, fabrics, fabric performance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
  • Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly
  • Upholds and furthers company's culture and values
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
