Support the Construction business with a focus on technical, engineering, and architectural aspects, ensuring compliance with Ingka standards and national practices. Lead and optimize project design processes while coordinating engineering efforts within the cluster.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Construction business in the cluster related to engineering, technical, and architectural aspects
Provide technical know-how based on Ingka standards and national best practices
Lead development in the cluster to engage designers for cost-efficient and innovative design processes
Work closely with Construction Managers for optimizing design-construct interaction
Lead and coordinate all Engineering work within the cluster
Align activities with internal and external stakeholders
Co-ordinate and maintain cluster knowledge-base regarding Ingka requirements and local/national codes
Maintain up-to-date awareness of all frameworks and guidelines issued by Group Real Estate
Support technical evaluations of new construction techniques and increase knowledge of FM co-workers
Clarify Ingka requirements, selection of consultants, and quality control throughout projects
Ensure smooth commissioning, testing, training, and handover of technical/building systems to Facility Management
Manage team competence, performance, and succession planning
Foster an environment embracing IKEA culture and diversity.
Requirements:
Academic degree in engineering or equivalent
Several years of experience at management level working with engineering design in construction
Experience within the retail sector is an advantage
Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English
Knowledge of how to plan, attract, grow, deploy, reward and support co-workers & leaders and their careers in IKEA
Knowledge of how to create and implement change initiatives and manage stakeholders in Ingka
Knowledge of how to initiate, plan, execute, control and close a project
Knowledge of how to initiate, plan, organize, execute and manage the construction of Ingka properties according to the latest Ingka standards
Knowledge on setting up, organisation, management and follow-up the design of Ingka Properties throughout the project development
Knowledge of Due Diligence methods and tools on technical evaluation, cost evaluation and risk assessment
Knowledge of principles of energy, water, emissions and waste management in a construction project to keep the environmental impact to a minimum
Knowledge of energy modelling and life cycle cost evaluation
Knowledge about BREEAM and LEED including evaluation of low impact construction materials
Knowledge of different construction materials and engineering solutions, suitability in accordance with price, functionality, durability and analysis of pros and cons
Knowledge of tools for timeline management (e.g., MS Project), document management (e.g., CAD manual, Projectplace, Hummingbird), design management (e.g., AutoCad for 2D or Revit, Navisworks for 3D), and general software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of how to implement a budget starting from the Land IR till the final cost estimate and later on the CFU (Cost Follow Up)
Including tools, cost groups, cost benchmarking and recognizing deviations
Knowledge of local and national authority permission processes related to design and construction activities, including ways of working and compliance standards
Knowledge of local and national construction standards, codes, rules, and costs
Knowledge of how to create a safe construction site and environment that complies with IKEA Way of Working (IWAY) and national safety standards
Knowledge of structurally safe properties, equipped with life safety & property protection systems
Knowledge of internal requirements, methods, and tools to ensure quality during design and construction work throughout development and warranty periods
Knowledge of construction and design contract types, understanding legal issues and claims
Builds and maintains strategic business connections
Coordinates and directs activities to achieve objectives
