As a Technical Data Analyst in the Economic Crime space, you will support the development of cloud-based data solutions that enhance our ability to detect, prevent, and manage financial crime risks. You’ll work within the Data Delivery & Control Technology (DDC) team to build high quality, governed data products on the Barclays Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) and deliver impactful reporting using modern data tooling.
Job Responsibility:
Design and development of comprehensive reports and dashboards using various data visualization tools and techniques
Design, development and implementation of automated report generation processes for improved efficiency and timeliness
Identification and analysis of business requirements to define report content and format
Maintenance and updating of existing reports and dashboards to reflect changing business needs, including co-ordination of reporting template releases and related administrative tasks
Development of robust processes & controls for collating input data & seeking signoffs as required
Engagement with stakeholders as needed to ensure up to date data is incorporated into reporting
Requirements:
Data analysis – strong experience in data analysis, using tools such as Power BI to build interactive dashboards, analytical datasets, and operational or regulatory reporting
SQL and modern cloud data platforms and tooling – practical SQL experience for analysis, validation, and data profiling, with exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS, Snowflake)
Data governance, controls, and modelling awareness – understanding of data quality controls (lineage, completeness, accuracy, reconciliation, auditability) and common data modelling approaches
Business analysis and stakeholder collaboration – ability to translate business problems into clear user stories with well‑defined acceptance criteria, working effectively with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders
Economic Crime domain knowledge – exposure to AML / Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions, Fraud, KYC, or Financial Crime controls and governance
