Job Description

At Convergence, our success over the past 20 years hasn’t happened by chance. It’s been built on strong foundations, a resilient work ethic, and a constant drive to improve. At the heart of it all are our people - because we know we’re only as good as the team we build. We’re a customer-focused, product-led business, always striving to deliver industry leading connectivity backed by exceptional service. Now, we’re looking for a Technical Data Analyst to help us better understand, optimise, and evolve the systems and data that power everything we do. What It’s Really Like Here The pace and intensity are higher than most environments in our sector. The workload is typically around 30% greater than many people will have experienced elsewhere - not because we are chaotic, but because we are ambitious and constantly building. We grow organically and through acquisition, continuously integrating, improving and raising the bar. The landscape evolves, priorities shift, and expectations rise. If you prefer a predictable, static environment, this probably won’t feel comfortable. If you are energised by growth, movement and high standards, it can be deeply rewarding. Your strengths will have a bigger platform here - and you will be stretched behaviourally more than in most environments. We value respectful honesty: anyone can challenge an idea; hierarchy doesn’t protect thinking and getting it right matters more than being right. Ego doesn’t perform well here; curiosity, learning and ownership do. We hire people who are already strong at their craft - the stretch at Convergence Group is navigating pace, complexity and constant evolution. This environment isn’t for everyone, but for the right person it offers an exceptional opportunity for impact, growth and accelerated development. What you’ll be doing as our Technical Data Analyst You’ll be deep in the detail, translating complexity into clarity and insight, and your responsibilities will include: Mapping and documenting end-to-end data workflows, system logic, dependencies, and lineage. Collaborating with developers to uncover embedded business rules and technical logic. Identifying inefficiencies, risks, control gaps, and opportunities for optimisation. Streamlining and optimising systems by reducing manual effort, reprocessing, and operational friction. Documenting and clarifying complexity by turning technical knowledge into clear, structured outputs and mapping data flows. Analysing SQL databases, stored procedures, and operational datasets to understand how data flows and supports business processes. Improving visibility and resilience by creating shared understanding across teams and reducing reliance on undocumented knowledge. Driving continuous improvement through insight-led recommendations, supporting system integrations, and strengthening data governance and integrity. Identifying root causes of issues and driving continuous improvement. Tools & tech you’ll use include: SQL and related querying tools (e.g. Azure SQL, SQL Server), programming or scripting languages (e.g. C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell), Cloud hosted platforms (e.g. Azure), Monday.com for project and task management and Draw IO for process mapping. What we’re looking for 5+ years of hands-on experience in stored procedures, operational data analysis and SQL Experience with data lineage, system workflows or process mapping Proven experience working on system or data transformation initiatives, collaborating closely with developers Strong skills in at least one programming language or scripting technology (e.g. C#, Python, JavaScript or Powershell) Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to translate complex code and systems logic into clear, structured outputs A track record of success in fast-paced, evolving environments Confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and drive meaningful improvements The ability to bridge technical and non-technical conversations effectively Eligibility to pass BPSS and other relevant clearance checks What you’ll get Salary: £70-85,000 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Private medical insurance, enhanced pension, income protection & life assurance Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the Solihull office & flexible core hours Dog-friendly office – yes, really! Who Are Convergence Group? At Convergence Group, we break free from corporate red tape as a privately-owned company, driving bold innovation without the constraints of private equity or external bankers. Experts in Wan, Lan, WiFi and Security solutions we stand out by revolutionising infrastructure management - making it seamless so our customers can focus on what matters most. With rapid growth ahead, we need exceptional talent who bring the right skills, attitude, and drive to shape the future with us. Where A Players come to make a difference If you’re looking for a role where you can improve systems, strengthen knowledge, and influence how data is used across a growing business, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and shape the future of connectivity.
