We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Associate Civil Engineer to assist in the growth and development of our Civil Engineering division in Melbourne. This key engineering role will be responsible for planning, managing and successfully delivering engineering projects of a complex nature.
Job Responsibility:
Provide Civil Engineering technical support and input to the pursuit of new business opportunities in Victoria, particularly on power grid and renewable power generation projects and civil temporary works for infrastructure projects
Gain an understanding of the business and strategic direction of ADG, and develop, grow and maintain strong customer relationships
Identify, communicate and pursue new opportunities for the Civil Engineering division in Victoria, and build your business development skills
Carrying out and managing detailed designs for a variety of projects, whilst maintaining a focus on power grid and renewables and civil temporary works, and all aspects of projects ensuring that designs are innovative, prepared to a high standard and in accordance with the needs and expectations of our clients
Managing and resolving project issues, and consider construction costings and practices in the design process
Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineers and designers within the civil discipline
Provide technical guidance, feedback and support to the team members, and conduct performance reviews, training needs analysis and career development plans for them
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Chartered member (CPEng) of Institute of Engineers Australia
10+ years of demonstrated design experience
Ability to think and solve problems and to critically assess and review designs by others
Experience in production of detailed engineering drawings commensurate with level of duties
A knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design
An understanding of design and commercial risk with good contract management experience
Experience in liaising with project managers and architects effectively
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain relationships at different levels within client organisations
