Job Responsibility

  • Identifying technical innovation opportunities and team capability gaps, developing and delivering individual and team training plans
  • Assist in developing and delivering a broad suite of training opportunities aligned with professional development pathways
  • Assist the CDO to identify and implement improvements in Computational Design, interoperability, and optimisation - focused on improving design efficiency and project delivery
  • Support the Discipline Principal Engineer in monitoring emerging software trends – including automation and AI-enabled tools relevant to civil design
  • Apply advanced design and documentation principles to deliver effective, coordinated solutions using model-based design approaches
  • Improve efficiency and implementation of tools including 12D, Civil 3D, BIM and visualisation – including leveraging models as a source of project data
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline or automate design and documentation workflows
  • Support the uplift of digital capability within the Civil team through mentoring and practical application of tools and workflows

Requirements

  • 15+ years of demonstrated design experience
  • Ability to solve complex problems and critically assess designs
  • Experience in production of detailed engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design
  • Understanding of design and commercial risk, with contract management experience
  • Experience working with project managers and architects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Business development capability
  • Strong capability in 12D, Civil 3D and BIM environments, with experience in coordinated digital delivery
  • Understanding of digital models as data sources to support design and project outcomes
  • Experience or interest in automation, computational design, or workflow optimisation
  • Willingness to adopt emerging tools, including AI, where they improve efficiency and outcomes
