The Technical Business Analyst is the functional support bridge for the NYSERDA users and IT for the PeopleSoft Contract Management and Financial Modules (NEIS). This point person is critical for NEIS functional troubleshooting and routine management, resolving urgent and regular NEIS issues for Contracts, Finance and Program Staff pertaining to the NEIS ERP system
Job Responsibility:
Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
Perform all functions associated with Administrator rights in NEIS
Establish, maintain, and execute user access security in NEIS including workflow security for the onboarding and offboarding of users, and support Single Sign On (SSO) security issues
Ensure all workflows within NEIS continue to function smoothly, update workflows as processes change
Engage in daily triage of issues or glitches that may affect the timely processing of items such as invoices, collaborations, contracts, etc.
Manage errors, customizations, and SQL updates through the issue-ticketing system.
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with IT and the systems contractor to ensure the best and most cost-effective technical solutions
Develop business requirements for NEIS enhancements and reports to ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
Assist with the coordination of technical and functional activities associated with PeopleSoft software system upgrades, patches, and fixes
Coordinate with the Finance Team to apply funding code changes to Purchase Orders as requested by program staff.
Develop and run both regular and ad hoc reports and queries to respond to information requests from executive staff as well as other program staff, and assist staff with the design and development of queries and reports to meet users’ need
Requirements:
Proven experience working in contracting/financial database systems, Oracle Peoplesoft experience strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years demonstrable work experience for Business Analyst
Minimum 7 years demonstrable work experience for Sr Business Analyst
A keen attention to detail and a penchant for mastering and understanding details for the purpose of simplifying the landscape for others.
Able to understand user problems and identify the corrective action, make the correction in the system or work with the technical team to address
Extraordinary diligence, thoroughness and follow-through in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated customer service orientation
Skilled in managing multiple, diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy and strong judgement.
Demonstrated troubleshooting of Financial or Contracting systems, preferably Oracle Peoplesoft
Experience in user acceptance testing (UAT) of Financial or Contracting systems, preferably Oracle Peoplesoft
Experience in assigning. establishing, maintaining user access security including workflow security during onboarding and offboarding of users in a Financial or Contracting systems, preferably Oracle Peoplesoft
