The Technical Business Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting process documentation, requirements analysis, and data readiness assessment for advanced planning and scheduling initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites. Project Overview: PSG is implementing PlanetTogether Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) across 9 manufacturing sites. We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support process documentation, requirements analysis, data readiness assessment, and coordination across project teams. Important: • This role does NOT perform system configuration. • This role does NOT write test scripts or perform testing. • This role coordinates testing activities with a dedicated QA/tester.
Job Responsibility:
Lead discovery sessions with planners, schedulers, and manufacturing SMEs
Document current-state scheduling workflows, constraints, and decision logic
Define future-state processes aligned with APS capabilities
Translate business needs into clear functional requirements for configurators and IT teams
Review and assess manufacturing master data: routings, BOMs, run rates, calendars, resource structures, and planning parameters
Identify inconsistencies or gaps impacting scheduling quality
Coordinate data cleanup actions with ERP/SAP teams and site personnel
Analyze issues raised by planners to help determine whether root cause is data-, process-, or configuration-related
Align business stakeholders and the dedicated tester on test scope, expected outcomes, and readiness activities
Ensure functional requirements are understood by the tester
Coordinate scheduling of UAT sessions and business participation
Support defect triage by gathering details, categorizing issues, and routing them to the right teams (configurators, ERP, data owners)
Track test progress and ensure closure of defects
Create clear process flows, business requirements, user documentation, SOPs, and decision logs
Drive consistency in scheduling-related processes across all 9 sites
Support deployment planning and site readiness activities
Provide structured updates on risks, issues, and decisions to the APS Program Manager
Requirements:
5+ years in a Business Analyst role supporting manufacturing, planning, or supply chain
Experience supporting APS, MES, or production scheduling initiatives (PlanetTogether preferred)
Strong understanding of finite scheduling concepts, routings, constraints, changeovers, and production flow
Demonstrated experience assessing and interpreting manufacturing master data
Strong communication and documentation skills—ability to translate business needs into structured requirements
Analytical skills with Excel, PowerQuery, or SQL
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams (operations, IT, vendor teams)
A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering is required
Nice to have:
Experience working with or alongside APS configurators/technical specialists
SAP experience is a strong plus, especially in PP/PI (routings, work centers, BOMs, capacity data)
Prior involvement in multi-site manufacturing system rollouts
Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience
