The post holder will be responsible for producing technical documentation to support products in-service. As a Technical Author, you will be working with various other departments to accumulate the required information to create accurate and clear maintenance and training documentation.
Job Responsibility:
Producing Component Maintenance Manuals to the ATA iSpec 2200 standard
Producing training manuals for both crew and maintenance personnel
Working with the engineering design team to produce Installation Documentation to the standard determined by the Aircraft OEM
Managing workload to ensure on-time delivery of all documentation
Creating Service Bulletins to implement design changes on current in-service programs
Creating Service Information Letters to provide advisory information or maintenance clarification for current in-service programs
Creating Temporary Revisions to implement changes to maintenance data and/or parts within the Component Maintenance Manual
Attending project milestones and customer meetings as required
Requirements:
Relevant Degree within Manufacturing/Engineering or relevant experience in an Engineering discipline
A high level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems
A good understanding of authoring software and standard authoring practises
Strong background in gathering information and research
Ability to clearly convey technical content in the written form, particularly in the form of maintenance instructions
Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
The ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
