We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Technical Auditor to become a vital part of our onsite Technical Team at our Protein site in Normanton. Job Responsibility

  • Working closely alongside the Technical Team, providing cover where necessary
  • Glass Audit Champion for site GMP Champion for site – lead and further develop Glass Auditing system, conduct Glass Audits, drive best practice through business
  • GMP Champion for site – lead and further develop GMP Auditing system, conduct GMP Audits, drive best practice through business, specifically on High Care Standards. Develop system that allows for reporting GMP Audit Scores and communicate through site
  • Effectively manage/conduct the site allergen/speciation/swabbing schedules working alongside and in the absence of the technical services when required
  • Any other duties as required, the role requires a flexibility and ability to work under pressure
  • Carry out regular reviews and investigation on the feedstock’s present on the quarantine list, working with the D365 systems ensuring stock control is maintained
  • Support and Audit on Industry standards to ensure compliance – BMPA and Red Tractor, and any other as applicable
  • Manage the creation, amendment and control of factory specifications, ensuring all specifications are issued and correct in a timely manner prior to production launches
  • Complete Traceability to a schedule working with the Technical Services and the Factory Technical Manager, ensuring all documentation within the trace exercise is compliant including reviewing the supplier trace documents. Ensuring these are carried out in a timely manner as appropriate
  • Work closely with other team members, and also under one’s own initiative to maintain company QMS and meet customer expectations
  • Have strong self-motivation and a desire to help drive quality and technical codes of practice throughout the business
  • Ensuring that processes, packaging and documentation are meeting best practice. Verify, on the factory floor, correct implementation of processing specifications and Technical Operation and Process documents
  • Assist with the pest control services that are on site
  • Over see the calibration systems on the Quor module ensuring all equipment is calibrated
  • Provide technical support to all other departments within the business

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Food or related subject
  • Excellent Excel and typographical skills
  • Trained in food safety and hazard analysis
  • Strong passion for food and food quality
  • Resilient, motivated, and proactive with a positive approach
  • Effective leader who sets high standards and motivates others
  • Clear communicator with strong relationship‑building skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible, able to multitask, and works well under pressure
  • Strong influencing and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel and solid IT capability
  • Good knowledge of accreditation standards, legislation, HACCP, BRC, KPIs and GMPs
  • Skilled in root‑cause analysis and communicating preventative actions
  • Able to manage own workload and support others
