Technical Assistant position – long non-coding RNA localization regulation and function. The project focuses on the regulation of subcellular RNA localization and the function of long non-coding RNAs, combining single-molecule RNA imaging, RNA-protein interaction mapping, and CRISPR-based genome editing with an ultimate goal to derive general principles that govern intron retention and RNA localization.
Job Responsibility:
Apply single-molecule RNA imaging methods to determine RNA dynamics at high resolution
Perform cell culture phenotyping
Use standard molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting, RNA extraction, and related assays
Investigate RNA–protein interactions and structural elements that regulate RNA localization and function
Use genome editing to manipulate regulatory motifs and assess function using experimental and computational approaches
Requirements:
Basic skills in cell culture
Standard molecular biology techniques (e.g., Western blotting, RNA extraction, PCR)
Keen interest in RNA biology
Nice to have:
Background in computational biology
What we offer:
Stimulating and collaborative working environment
State-of-the-art infrastructure
Unique professional career development opportunities
Part of the CPI and SCALE Clusters of Excellence, TRR267 on non-coding RNAs in the cardiovascular system
Numerous opportunities to engage with researchers working in diverse fields
