Job Description:

The Technical Architect role requires over 10 years of experience in data architecture and engineering. The successful candidate will design and implement data solutions, focusing on Azure and ETL pipelines. Responsibilities include defining data architecture, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with stakeholders. This position offers a chance to lead technical teams and innovate in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility:

Design and guide implementation of the target architecture that moves compensation data stitching and key logic upstream into the Bank Payments Data Platform, reducing reliance on Varicent’s inflexible/expensive data model
Own architecture for ingestion, transformation, stitching, publishing outputs, and implementing audit-grade controls
End-to-end data architecture
Define architecture for ingesting and stitching multiple domains (Customer, Revenue, Product, Sales Rep)
Design pipelines producing 9–10 aggregated outputs delivered 3× per month, with strict accuracy and repeatability
Data modeling and stitching patterns
Define canonical / conformed models, key management, hierarchy handling, and stitching strategy to replace Varicent-led stitching
Establish data contract standards (schema versioning, compatibility rules) for downstream consumers (including Varicent)
Rules and logic strategy
Shape approach to externalize/modernize business rules currently embedded in code
Controls and observability
Implement data quality, reconciliation, lineage, monitoring, and run controls suitable for compensation processing (high financial/legal sensitivity)
Define operational readiness: reruns/backfills, idempotency, incident triage, SLAs, and runbooks
Engineering enablement
Provide reference implementations, patterns, templates, and design guidance to scrum teams
Participate in story refinement and ensure technical backlog is aligned to architecture

Requirements:

10+ years in architecture/data engineering roles with strong hands-on delivery experience
Proven experience building enterprise data platforms and complex ETL/ELT pipelines
Strong data modeling and multi-domain integration expertise
Experience designing controls for accuracy: reconciliation frameworks, test strategy for transformations, auditability

Nice to have:

Azure cloud experience
Varicent/ICM ecosystem knowledge
Rules engine / decision services experience (ODM/Drools), governance, and rule testing frameworks
MDM integration and identity resolution experience
Cloud-native implementation expertise and DevOps for data
