The Technical Applications Development Group Manager is a critical senior management position focused on people leadership and organizational effectiveness. Job Responsibility:
Design and Architect technical solutions across various programs and bring standardized approach
bring in latest technology and design principles to increase efficiency and produce better output to align with strategic vision
manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team
provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results
utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations
influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made
drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
supervise the activity of others and create accountability.
Requirements:
10+ years of relevant experience in Software Development, Architect or a related technical field
proven experience leading and managing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
expert familiarity with the Software Development lifecycle (SDLC) and general technical concepts, sufficient to effectively manage technical teams and understand their challenges, with direct hands-on technical expertise
strong technical background, including hands-on experience and architectural understanding in several of the following areas: System Design & Architecture, Cloud Platforms, Programming Languages (e.g., Java and/or Python), Microservices Architecture, DevOps Practices, Database Technologies
experience in designing, developing, and deploying complex application systems
demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
experience managing global technology teams, navigating cultural differences and distributed workforces
working knowledge of industry best practices and standards in software development and team leadership
consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication, particularly in technical discussions and team leadership
ability to drive technical strategy and foster innovation within the development teams.
