The Technical Analyst (Data Engineer) is responsible for collecting, reviewing, and analyzing technical data from various building systems and operational sources. This role collaborates closely with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the Building Management System (BMS) Lead, and other stakeholders to identify trends, generate actionable insights, and develop dashboards that support data-driven decision-making across the JLL portfolio. The role requires strong technical acumen, data engineering skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Job Responsibility:
Collect, validate, and analyze technical data from building systems, sensors, and operational reports, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Collaborate with technical SMEs and BMS leads to understand system performance, identify anomalies, and develop data-driven solutions
Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reporting tools to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and operational metrics using platforms such as Power BI and Tableau
Identify and communicate actionable insights to improve system efficiency, reduce downtime, and support sustainability initiatives
Support predictive maintenance and operational excellence programs by analyzing historical and real-time data
Automate data collection and reporting processes, integrating data from multiple sources including Databricks, Azara, and other enterprise platforms
Ensure data security and compliance with JLL’s data governance standards
Stay updated on emerging data engineering tools, analytics platforms, and best practices relevant to building operations and facilities management
Work with cross-functional teams to support business intelligence initiatives and deliver high-quality analytical outputs
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels, including technical teams and senior management
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred
Minimum 5-year past work experience as a project coordinator, BI, business, or data analyst
Experience with process improvement is preferred
Experience with infrastructure and large complex projects is strongly preferred
Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
Experience with dashboarding and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Google Looker Studio)
Intermediate to expert proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to analyze and communicate data to clients and teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Able to think logically, organize workflows efficiently, and solve problems independently
Experience working with BMS or other building automation systems is highly desirable
Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
Demonstrated ability to manipulate large amounts of data accurately using different spreadsheet formats
Proven ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials
Ability to make informed recommendations in situations where data sets may be incomplete
