Job Description:

The Equipment Technical Advisor is responsible for providing knowledge and expertise from the conceptual stage through detailed design and implementation of the Company’s specialized equipment/tools. Through knowledge of projects/control systems engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, codes, specifications and procedures, the Technical Advisor ensures the Company is in compliance with best practices while maximizing profit margins.

Job Responsibility:

  • Works with ethics, honesty, values and integrity. Provides a position of professionalism to others
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to the project team, including customers, regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance to ensure that applicable procedures and standards are correctly applied
  • Identifies the needs and requirements of the Company and provides guidance on the design and installation of equipment
  • Troubleshoots the malfunctioning and inconsistencies of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical technical systems
  • Defines the performance standards and quality measurements for the technical set up
  • Provides leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing the work
  • Assigns resources to successfully support local project work
  • Assures quality of all deliverables
  • Provides resource forecasting reports and weekly chargeability/utilization
  • Develops work hour estimates and scope of work for new opportunities
  • Leads technical presentations to management and customers
  • Fosters a positive working relationship with co-workers, customers, clients and management
  • Completes all safety and equipment related trainings required on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for answering company issued cell phone during on call hours, in accordance with company and safety policies
  • Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant professional engineering experience
  • Advanced knowledge of AC electricity and excitation
  • Proficient computer skills
  • working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Must have strong time management, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and provide quality assignments
  • Ability to work in a fast paced customer driven environment and make responsible decisions quickly
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently as well as part of a team
