We are looking for an experienced Technical Accounting Manager to oversee complex accounting matters and provide strategic guidance to finance leadership. Based in Denver, Colorado, this position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in technical accounting.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on complex accounting topics, including revenue recognition, leases, equity-based compensation, business combinations, and financial instruments
Advise senior leadership and business teams on accounting implications of key business transactions and strategic initiatives
Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive accounting policies in adherence to U.S. GAAP and relevant regulatory standards
Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements
Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations
Lead efforts to enhance accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Participate in special projects such as debt or equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory filings
Oversee month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger reviews
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Active CPA certification required
Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with complex accounting topics such as revenue, leases, and equity-based compensation
Proven track record of managing financial statement audits and working effectively with external auditors
Proficiency in month-end close processes, including general ledger management and journal entries
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 and ASC 842
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience advising senior leadership on financial matters
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools, with the ability to adapt to new systems as needed
