Job Description

We are currently seeking a Technical Accountant to join our northern NJ based client - a large, publicly traded organization. The Technical Accountant will primarily be tasked with researching, interpreting, and producing memos for adoption based on GAAP standards. This person will be the first stop for all internal questions regarding accounting policies, and will require strong written and verbal communication skills. The ideal Technical Accountant will have a minimum of 5 years' recent experience in public accounting working in assurance/advisory services with SEC clients where they were reviewing accounting policy. A CPA is required. This role is hybrid, requiring only 2 days in the office per week.

Requirements

  • CPA required
  • 5+ years' experience in public accounting working with publicly traded clients
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP policies and applications with ability to research, interpret, and apply rules
  • Proficient with drafting, reviewing, and updating memos
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • May consider candidates in industry (publicly traded companies), if they have a CPA and strong foundation in public accounting and technical expertise
