As a Level 1 Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance with Linux-based systems. You will work closely with the Tech Support team to ensure the smooth operation of Linux servers and assist in resolving technical issues.
Job Responsibility:
Provide first-level technical support to end-users and assist them with Linux-related issues, including user account management, password resets, and desktop support
Monitor the performance and health of Linux servers, identifying and addressing potential issues or anomalies
Diagnose/resolve and Escalate Linux system problems, such as network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software errors
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based software applications
Perform massive stack restart/configuration changes as requested by band using tools like Ansible Tower, AWX and Virtual desktops
Apply patches and updates to Linux servers as necessary to keep systems up to date and secure
Work collaboratively with Level 2 Linux Administrators to resolve more complex issues
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Familiarity with Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
Basic understanding of Linux command-line tools and utilities
Nice to have:
Basic Knowledge of the ticketing tools such as Jira, Service now
Basic Knowledge of Monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
