Job Description:

As a Level 1 Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance with Linux-based systems. You will work closely with the Tech Support team to ensure the smooth operation of Linux servers and assist in resolving technical issues.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users and assist them with Linux-related issues, including user account management, password resets, and desktop support
  • Monitor the performance and health of Linux servers, identifying and addressing potential issues or anomalies
  • Diagnose/resolve and Escalate Linux system problems, such as network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software errors
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based software applications
  • Perform massive stack restart/configuration changes as requested by band using tools like Ansible Tower, AWX and Virtual desktops
  • Apply patches and updates to Linux servers as necessary to keep systems up to date and secure
  • Work collaboratively with Level 2 Linux Administrators to resolve more complex issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Familiarity with Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
  • Basic understanding of Linux command-line tools and utilities

Nice to have:

  • Basic Knowledge of the ticketing tools such as Jira, Service now
  • Basic Knowledge of Monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
