Amazon internships across all seasons are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work in office, Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day. Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. Job Responsibility
Serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers
Tackle the most fascinating challenges in designing, building, and operating Amazon data center facilities
Project oversight and review of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural
Identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other teams and organizations
Design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges
Work within multi-disciplinary teams
Scope of projects includes improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection and building automation system.
Requirements
Are enrolled in a academic program that is physically located in the United States
Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics
Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
Are 18 years of age or older
Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field.
