HSBC Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) supports clients and markets with robust, well-controlled trading and risk management capabilities. Within this, the XVA function plays a critical role in ensuring derivatives are priced and managed appropriately for counterparty credit risk, funding, capital and collateral impacts—helping the business make informed decisions and meet regulatory and governance expectations. The XVA programme brings together a global, cross-functional team spanning the United Kingdom, Poland, Canada and Asia, working across time zones as one delivery unit. We partner day-to-day with Front Office, Market Risk, Finance, Treasury, Operations and Model Risk to deliver consistent outcomes across regions, with English as our primary language of communication. Within the engineering and reliability capability supporting XVA, our focus is on delivering business requirements at pace and owning products end-to-end—from discovery and design through build, testing, release and production support. We translate business outcomes into clear technical deliverables, remove friction through simplification and automation. Risk and control are central to how we deliver. We build resilient platforms with strong engineering standards, embedded controls, and transparent operational processes—strengthening auditability, reducing operational risk, and ensuring changes move safely and quickly into production.
