Job Description

As a Technical Lead Network Security Automation at 3Pillar Global, you'll ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance across industries and technological innovations. You'll go beyond traditional testing by ensuring exceptional product quality while mentoring junior team members and establishing quality standards. Your attention to detail and expertise will directly impact our product development success.

Job Responsibility

  • Strategic Quality Assurance Planning: Collaborate with the Technical Lead or Product Development Manager (PDM) to develop comprehensive test strategies and plans that support project objectives and timelines. Focus on implementing and optimizing testing methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness across testing phases
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strategic partnerships across organizations, effectively communicate technical challenges to non-technical stakeholders and negotiate project requirements and constraints
  • Automation Framework Improvement: Enhance and expand automation frameworks and practices
  • Technical Leadership: Inspire team through technical expertise. Proficient ability to translate technical complexity into strategic insights
  • Test Activities Oversight: Lead the detailed design and oversight of test execution, focusing on critical, high-impact testing activities. Oversee critical testing activities ensuring comprehensive coverage while efficiently utilizing available tools and technologies
  • Test Design and Execution: Proficient in test planning, test case design, and execution, focusing on critical, high-impact testing activities. Take ownership of quality assurance deliverables within projects
  • Cloud Technologies: Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure and virtualization technologies. Hands-on experience with at least 2-3 major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, or Alibaba Cloud) and virtualization technologies such as VMWare, KVM, or OpenStack. As a TL, they'll architect scalable solutions, mentor team members, and drive technical decisions across our platform products
  • Automation and Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving testing processes and automation coverage, contributing to the selection and implementation of advanced tools and technologies. Drive the adoption of advanced automation tools and practices that enhance testing processes and product quality
  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a primary QA contact for development and product management teams, promoting effective communication and collaboration and ensuring testing results and processes are clearly communicated
  • Mentoring and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior team members and advocate for quality standards and good practices throughout the project lifecycle. Share knowledge and insights with the QA team, contributing to skill development and process refinement
  • Quality Culture and Team Development: Develop comprehensive talent development strategies, create organizational learning programs, mentor multiple layers of technical staff and identify and nurture high-potential talent. Create a positive learning environment, recognizes and highlights team achievements and provides constructive motivation
  • Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Maintain awareness of new testing technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices. Share findings with the QA team and the Technical Lead, suggesting ways to leverage new insights for improved quality and efficiency

Requirements

  • Proficient (8+ years) in automation with Python programming skills: experience with backend / API testing
  • relevant contribution to development of an automation framework
  • solid understanding of OOP concepts
  • Proficient (5+ years) in Networking concepts, protocols, traffic generation/inspection tools
  • Solid experience with Linux CLI, bash scripting, and virtualization technologies
  • Solid experience with API testing tools e.g.: Postman, Swagger etc
  • Solid experience with version control tools e.g.: Git, Perforce, BitBucket etc
  • Good experience with CI/CD Tools e.g.: Jenkins, GitLab CI etc
  • Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure and virtualization technologies
  • Good experience with defect tracking systems (Jira, TargetProcess, Mantis, Trello)
  • Solid experience with Agile/Scrum development (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Leadership experience in QA roles (1+ years)
  • Good knowledge of testing methodologies including black-box, white-box, and gray-box testing. Knowledge of various testing types including functional, regression, integration, and security testing
  • Proficient as a Software QA Engineer with proven success in test planning, execution, and documentation
  • Proficient in analyzing requirements, identifying test scenarios, and developing effective test plans, cases, and scripts
  • Solid experience in leading and mentoring QA team members
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English, with ability to explain complex technical issues clearly
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and adaptability when managing multiple priorities
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ability to adapt to changing project requirements

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Professional QA certifications demonstrating commitment to best practices (ISTQB, CSTE)
  • In-depth understanding of both software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC)
  • Expertise in performance and scalability testing using industry-standard tools
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and their practical application in production environments would be a significant advantage
