Job Description

Tech Lead / Full Stack Engineer to build and lead the dynamic development team, drive innovative web solutions, and help shape the future of the technology stack of our platform. This role is pivotal for our stealth-stage SaaS startup and we are looking for the just-right candidate to lead the development of a new cutting-edge Payroll & HR system with AI-heavy analytics.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive Technical Leadership: Assume full responsibility for all technical facets of our groundbreaking project, guiding it from conception through to execution
  • Enhance and Innovate: Spearhead the development of innovative features and enhancements, ensuring our project remains at the cutting edge
  • AI Code Integration: Evaluate and incorporate AI-driven coding and automation tools into the development workflow, enhancing efficiency and innovation
  • Work Closely with Product and UI Team: To standardize common UI components that elevate user experience and interface consistency
  • Foster Code Excellence: Conduct regular code reviews, promoting best practices and high-quality standards among the team
  • Guide and Mentor: Offer both technical and functional direction to the engineering team, assisting in the design, maintenance, construction, integration, and testing of components in line with our product's vision
  • Shape Technical Design: Contribute your expert knowledge to the technical design of features and solution components, ensuring they meet our standards and objectives
  • Document and Detail: Play a key role in the creation and refinement of comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility of technical information
  • Decision Making: Take charge of key technological decisions, ensuring they align with our team's practices and the broader company's vision and mission
  • Workflow Management: Efficiently manage all workflows, employing project management tools and systems for optimal tasks organization
  • Bridge Engineering and Business: Engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, linking engineering efforts with the company's strategic business goals

Requirements

  • 6+ years of commercial experience with PHP 7+ versions
  • Proven track-record of leading a successful project’s engineering for at least 3 years
  • Robust understanding of OOP and writing simple and clean code
  • Advanced architecture understanding both on a theoretical and practical level
  • Strong knowledge of Code Design Patterns, SOLID, DRY and KISS principles
  • Experience with the Laravel framework
  • Experience with databases PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis
  • Knowledge in databases, SQL optimization
  • Hands-on experience with integrations of external API to the project
  • Understand Microservices, DDD, Event Sourcing, CQRS
  • Experience with Docker and docker-compose
  • Experience with PHPUnit and tests
  • Exceptional analytical and detail-oriented skills
  • Excellent bilingual communication skills in both - Spanish and English

Nice to have

  • Experience with AWS
  • At ease with Slack, Airtable, Notion, ClickUp, versioning
  • Experience with writing engineering job requirements and interviewing and testing engineering candidates
  • B.Sc or higher in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Math, Machine Learning or a related field
