Job Description:

We are looking for a Teamlead Product (m/f/d) – Product Sorting who will drive innovation across Product Ranking & Sorting, incl. Business Logics and AI-powered solutions. Your mission is to design scalable, flexible, and high-performing real-time sorting and ranking solutions that optimize product discovery, maximize business impact, and enhance the shopping experience at AY. As part of our international product organization, your team owns and optimizes Product Sorting & Ranking Logic across all relevant touchpoints. You ensure that customers see the most relevant products in the right order – balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility. We work with over 1 million real-time API calls per hour and a huge amount of data to deliver highly performant and intelligent sorting mechanisms to millions of users. Be part of the international product team and provide features to an audience of millions of users, act as a role model for your team, keep spirits high, and bring drive into your product domain.

Job Responsibility:

  • Independently manage your team and take full ownership of your team’s output as well as E2E feature conception & planning within the Product Sorting domain
  • define and evolve product ranking and sorting strategies (e.g. category sorting, campaign sorting, sponsored product integration, rule-based and algorithmic ranking approaches)
  • steer an experienced development team within AY’s agile working culture (SCRUM, Kanban) – organize and moderate agile meetings (e.g. standup, planning, retrospective, feature demonstrations, etc.)
  • own and continuously improve the sorting & ranking logic by balancing commercial KPIs (e.g. conversion, revenue, margin), customer relevance, and operational constraints
  • work data-driven, leveraging A/B testing, reports, and analyses to derive actions that are truly oriented towards customer needs and business impact
  • collaborate closely with Data Science and Engineering to implement scalable, performant, and AI-supported ranking solutions
  • manage and communicate with all relevant stakeholders across Business, Tech, and Analytics
  • translate stakeholder demands, commercial goals, and operational requirements into actionable and scalable product solutions
  • triage operative issues, identify technical dependencies, and evaluate business impact
  • lead cross-team initiatives and collaborate closely with other Tech Teams (e.g. App, Web, Shop Analytics, etc.) to deliver seamless E2E sorting experiences

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Product Management in a software development environment (preferred: backend-oriented)
  • at least 2 years of Team Leadership experience
  • strong experience with complex product logic, ideally in ranking, sorting, search, or similar algorithm-driven domains
  • experience working in agile environments and collaborating with Developers, Data Scientists, and QA Managers
  • deep understanding of technical systems, data flows, and functional dependencies
  • strong analytical mindset and hands-on experience with KPIs, experimentation (e.g. A/B testing), and performance optimization
  • e-commerce experience (preferably retail), with a good understanding of commercial levers such as conversion, margin, stock, and campaign logic
  • experience in IT project management and leading cross-team initiatives
  • you take ownership, make data-informed decisions, and feel comfortable operating in a high-impact product area
  • you are comfortable working in an international environment
  • you have excellent communication skills (in English) and can translate complex technical topics into clear business language
  • you are analytical, structured, customer-focused, and impact-driven
